I am a big fan of Thermomix, I have been brought up with them since I was a kid, and my mother is on her 3 one in 40 years! 

We like to call our Thermomix, the kitchen robot. 

This is a recipe that I have adapted to work in the Thermomix but equally can be done without. I can’t remember where I got the original recipe from, but when I do I will credit them accordingly.

Ingredients

20g Olive Oil
10g (1 tsp) Cumin Seeds
10g (1 tsp) Corriander Seeds

2 garlic cloves
10g (1 tsp) Chilli flakes
75g Onion

60g Carrot
60g Courgette
50g Sweetcorn

1 tsp salt
250g canned mixed bean/kidney beans/black beans

50g Breadcrumbs/Millet Flakes/Polenta
Oil for frying

 

Thermomix Method

Add oil and cumin and coriander seed to bowl –
5 min | varoma | speed 1

Put garlic, chilli flakes and onions in the bowl –
5 secs | speed 5
then 3 min | 120 degree | speed 1

Add the rest of your vegetables – 5 secs | speed 5 then 2 min | 120 degree | speed 1

Rinse your beans and drain add to bowl with salt –
2 min | 120 degree | rev stir

Put all your ingredients into an open bowl and let cool.

Once it is cool enough to handle, squeeze into burger size balls, roll in breadcrumbs, millet flakes or polenta. Fry in oil, butter or coconut butter for 2 mins each side.

Regular Method

Add oil and cumin and coriander in the pan and cook for 5 mins on low heat.

Put garlic, chilli flakes and finely chopped onions in the pan and cook for a further 3 mins.

Grate carrot and courgette and add to the pan with the sweetcorn. Cook for 2 mins.

Rinse your beans and drain, add to the pan with salt. cook for 2 mins

Put all your ingredients into an open bowl and let cool.

Once it is cool enough to handle, squeeze into burger size balls, roll in breadcrumbs, millet flakes or polenta. Fry in oil, butter or coconut butter for 2 mins each side.
